Student Neighborhood Access Program (SNAP) Walking Route
1. Students living between Church Street and Sunset Drive: Walk south to
2000 North/Antelope Drive. Proceed east on the north side of 2000
North/Antelope Drive. Turn north at Sunset Drive. Continue on the north
side of Sunset Drive to the crosswalk in front of Adams Elementary.
2. Students living on the west/northwest side of Sunset Drive: Walk east on
the north side of Sunset Drive to the crosswalk in front of Adams
Elementary.
3. Students living between Sunset Drive and 2150 East (north of 2000
North/Antelope Drive): Walk north to Sunset Drive. Continue on the south
side of Sunset Drive to Adams Elementary.
4. Students living south of 2000 North/Antelope Drive: Walk east to 2150
East and 2000 North/Antelope. Continue north on the east side of 2150
East. Cross 2200 North carefully and continue across the field to Adams
Elementary.
5. Students east of 2150 East along 2000 North/Antelope Drive: Walk west
along the north side of 2000 North/Antelope Drive to 2150 East and 2000
North/Antelope Drive. Continue north on the east side of 2150 East. Cross
2200 North carefully and continue across the field to Adams Elementary.
6. Students living north of 2000 North/Antelope Drive and east of 2150 East:
Walk north to Sunset Drive. Continue west on the south side of Sunset
Drive to Adams Elementary.
7. Students living north of Sunset Drive: Walk south to Sunset Drive.
Continue on the north side of Sunset Drive to the crosswalk in front of
Adams Elementary.
Areas of Concern
· Intersection of Sunset Drive and 2000 North/Antelope Drive: 2000
North/Antelope Drive is a high speed (40 mph) street that intersects
with Sunset at the top of a steep hill. Visibility is limited. There is no
crossing guard or cross walk. Students should not cross at this point.
· Intersection of 2150 East and 2000 North/Antelope Drive: 2000
North/Antelope Drive is a high speed (40 mph) street that intersects
2150 East. There is no crossing guard.
· Sunset Drive: Students should stay on the west/north side of Sunset
Drive until reaching the crosswalk in front of Adams Elementary.
· Bicycles: It is not safe to ride bicycles to Adams Elementary. There are
no designated bicycle lanes and Layton City ordinances prohibit bicycle
riding on the sidewalks.
· U-turns: Parents should not make U-turns in front of Adams Elementary
to load students. Designated loading zones should be used.
· Drop off and pick up zones: Parents should not drop off or pick up
students in the coned or bus zones of the north parking lot. Parents
should pull forward in the drop off zone to facilitate movement in the
drop off/pick up zone. Parents cannot park their cars in either the drop
off/pick up or bus zones. Parents should not back out of the north
parking lot at any time.
